By Métro

  • Bir-Hakeim (Line 6) — 8-minute walk across the Pont d'Iéna, with a classic view of the tower on approach.
  • Trocadéro (Lines 6 & 9) — the postcard view. 10 minutes on foot down the Trocadéro Gardens.
  • École Militaire (Line 8) — quieter side, 10-minute walk up the length of the Champ de Mars.

By RER

Champ de Mars – Tour Eiffel on RER C is the closest station — about a 5-minute walk. Useful if you're arriving from Versailles or from central stations on the C line.

By bus

Buses 82, 42 and 69 all stop within a short walk. The 69 doubles as a lovely scenic ride from the Marais past the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay.

On foot

From the Louvre it's a pleasant 40-minute walk along the Seine. From Saint-Germain, around 25 minutes. Walking is often faster than the Métro for shorter hops in central Paris.

From the airport

  • Charles de Gaulle (CDG) — RER B to Saint-Michel, then RER C to Champ de Mars – Tour Eiffel. About 70 minutes.
  • Orly (ORY) — Orlyval to Antony, RER B to Saint-Michel, then RER C. About 60 minutes. The new Métro Line 14 extension makes this quicker if you're staying central.

Bir-Hakeim and Trocadéro Métro stations are not step-free. If you need lift access, use the RER C to Champ de Mars – Tour Eiffel or arrive by bus. The tower's 1st and 2nd floors are accessible by lift; the summit is not.
